I've already received a response!

I sent a query letter out to a publisher early this afternoon AND........I've just received a reply already! I cannot believe it has happened so fast! The publisher has agreed to read my children's book manuscript as an exclusive submission. I should hear back within 3 months. Thank God for email! woohoo! lol....

Well, most of us know how these things work. Rejection slips are a writer's worst enemy. lol....the three month wait is no fun. :(

I've been both routes and I'd much rather get the galley sheets!

Wow, Sharon, that's fantastic! You must have a great idea! Good luck with everything. I would love to hear about it when you're ready to tell. Guess you better start writing, huh? LOL

Dear Believer,

This is a children's book I began writing in 2003! I kept procrastinating about completing it but finally did that yesterday. It had just needed some editing and the query letter written. The title is, "THE JUICY PURPLE PICKLE". It's a collection of the sillest, craziest read-to-your-children poetry I could come up with. I have laughed and laughed while writing this book, surprising myself with the humorous poetry that came out of my mind. My aim is to get children interested in poetry, creativity and using their imaginations, from a very young age. The books is for children ages 2 or 3 to around 7 or so. That's all I can share at this time. Hopefully in the future, we'll see it in print!
