"Jelly Beans"

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Hello to everyone in the Abbey. I am still around. I have been hiding away at the farm tending to my family, tending to the gardens, and even found a few moments to finish my latest mosaic vase off. I think the mad rush of appointments, tests and such are finally done and summer break starts in a couple of weeks. Maybe now I can get back to participating a little bit. I sure miss you guys.

Love and hugs to my friends here in the Abbey and at Soul Food. Prayers to Heather and her husband.Bobbi

This is stunning Bobbi. I love the rainbowed colors. I would like to learn how to do something like this. I've been enamored of the idea of 'Smashing Glass' ever since you first came on board at Soul Food. The more I think about glass, the more I like it. How long did this particular project take you? And how precise do you have to be? I have a lot of trouble with my hands, but I would LOVE to learn to do this.

Dear Bobbi
It is wonderful to have you back in the Abbey and I do love your work. I took the liberty of reducing the image size in photoshop and rehosting it with imageshack. If you haven't got Photoshop I am sure there will be other free software that does this available.
love Heather

Oh thank you Heather. I lost all my programs and a lot of my data with another computer crash recently. My hands are pretty tied at the moment until I can search out some free software!!

Hi Winnie,

How are you? This vase took me a year but that is because I had to set it aside so many times to care for mom and the children. You don't have to be super precise. It is a slow, painstaking process, putting puzzle pieces together but it is very relaxing. The trick with the glass placement is to keep the pieces really close together. Even in this vase I see that I would have liked to have them a bit tighter. If you want to give it a go send me an email and I will give you more details.

hugs,
Bobbi

Oh, Bobbi, what a beautiful creation. I envy you your talent because I'm all thumbs when it comes to trying anything like that.

It's just beautiful, Bobbi, and it's wonderful to have you back even if it's only for a visit. Missed you!

Just curious, is the vase very heavy? Did you cover another form with pieces of glass?
