Once Seen

For me, no collection
or reflection on trees is complete
without a Bristlecone Pine.

This one is call "Breath" by the Indians,
and is dormant right now,
but will have needles again in
a year or two. It produced four cones
last year -- a lot of work.

He is more than 4000 years old.

I'd love to see this amazing tree with my own eyes.

"Breath" Good name.

I spent some time among the Bristlecones in the White Mountains of California, and although barely alive to the naked eye, closer inspection tells you otherwise. They bring you to your knees in wonderment.

Oh it's divine, and I am a firm fan of pines in any shape or form. What a beautiful form. I'd love to hear more Vi and Faucon.
