Matriarchs-- Final Piece
Here is the completed mural with a closeup of my female ancestors.
This has been a powerful experience as I interacted with other family members to find these photos. I've still got them searching for a picture of my maternal great-grandmother from Sweden, Bengta --no luck on that yet. Below is another maternal great-great grandmother, Margaret. Her portrait didn't fit the mural but I wanted to honor her as well. She came to California in 1849 during the Gold Rush to open a bakery with her husband.

Lori, this is wonderful - strong women to be proud of, indeed.
This is very powerful Lori. The shot could have been taken on the Isle of Ancestors. We will have to arrange for you to visit this most magical island. A ferry woman will take you there.
It's wonderful that you are able to get the pictures. What a treasure for all your family!
Oh, you will love the Isle of Ancestors. It's an amazing experience. Go unprepared and see what happens.
I agree with Heather and Barbara, the Isle of Ancestors is unforgettable, and unexpected. Great project of ancestors, here.
What a journey, thank you for taking us!
